A KELTY man who left a threatening voicemail on his former partner's phone has been sentenced to 135 hours of unpaid work.

Craig Rock, 37, of Union Street, said he had been attempting to retrieve his belongings after their break-up.

He previously admitted that on January 8, at an address in Dalgety Bay and elsewhere, he did behave in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person fear or alarm in that he did leave a threatening voicemail for his former partner.

Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard last Wednesday that the voicemail left said: "I do not understand why you are being nasty to me. I am not a nasty b****** but this time I will be."

Defence solicitor Gordon Martin said the relationship had come to an end some time ago and his client had attempted to get his property from the complainer and she refused.

He also said that the police were aware of particularly nasty messages that the complainer had sent and the relationship had lasted about three years.

Sheriff Charles Macnair said that the matter may not be seen as very serious but the incident was not in isolation.

"You have committed a number of offences against this partner and a previous partner," he said.
