COWDENBEATH and Cove Rangers face SFA charges after the fracas towards the end of last Saturday's League 2 play-off at Central Park.

The tie blew up in the closing minutes when Cove defender Harry Milne put in a terrible tackle on scorer of the winning goal Brad Smith only feet away from the home dug out.

A melee involving players of both sides ensued with a number of Cove men and backroom people jostling Cowden players.

Referee Steven Kirkland quietened things down by sending off Scott Ross and Cove skipper Eric Watson and ordering Rangers boss John Sheran, who had entered the Cowden dug out, to the stand and also home boss Gary Bollan and coach Ian Flaherty from the touchline for exchanging words with Sheran.

Both clubs have been accused of breaching SFA disciplinary rules and will have to face the beaks at Hampden in the near future.

Cowden director David Allan confirmed that the case will be heard on June 21 and that the club will be putting together its case.

The clubs could face fines and the backroom men of both sides could find themselves facing watching games from the stands for a spell next term.
