A BALLINGRY woman has admitted fraudulently obtaining almost £40,000 in benefits over a period of more than three years.
Bonnie Hart, 25, of Kirkland Avenue, submitted guilty pleas by letter at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
Between October 9, 2013, and May 30, 2017, she failed to give prompt notification of a change in her circumstances to the Department of Work and Pensions and received ESA benefits of £29,831.15 to which she was not entitled. She failed to disclose that her partner had started work.
She also admitted that between November 18, 2013, and June 4, 2017, she failed to notify Fife Council about a change in her circumstances and received housing benefit of £9,846.76 she was not entitled to receive.
Sheriff Charles MacNair deferred sentence until June 7 for Hart’s personal appearance.
