THE ceilidh evening held by Cowdenbeath Rotary Club turned out to be a major success for the club's charities fund.

Wee Jimmies saw a great night of Scottish music and dancing with the band having a hard job to get a rest such was the enthusiasm of the dancers.

Organiser Yolanda Hilton reported: "It was a really good night which saw £591 raised for our charities fund which was very encouraging.

"That was aided by some very generous donations of raffle prizes and I would like to thank all who contributed. All in all a very successful venture."

This was a very useful contribution to the club's charities fund which supports so many worthy local causes with the main fundraiser, the Ladies Day, coming up on Sunday May 6.
