COWDENBEATH Horticulture Society wants the area's charity knitters to back them in 2018.

Over the years the Society's charity knits have seen hundreds of quality items sent abroad to needy causes.

And for this year the target is to knit items for 'one year-olds'.

Said the Society's charity knit organiser Betty Young: "Its that time of year again, where you are asked to get those busy needles clacking and help us provide for others less fortunate than ourselves.

"This years charity has been chosen as "The Salvation Army" who would like us to knit baby items for up to one year-olds, "These items are most needed, but can also include items for the "Linus Group" who are asking for your help making comfort blankets for children in Hospital."

Betty is hopeful that this year will be as successful as past events when over 100 items have been created.

She added: "I can collect your donations if necessary. I can be contacted at 01383-514654 or on email @ elizabethayoung@tiscali.co.uk"
