A BALLINGRY woman assaulted her mother after she had too much to drink.

Louisa Smart, 20, of Navitie Park, said she didn't have much recollection of the event which resulted in the police being called.

She previously admitted that on March 19, at Navitie Park, Ballingry, that she did behave in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm in that she did shout, swear, act in aggressive manner and utter threats of violence and she did assault her mother and did kick her on the body and did commit theses offences while on bail.

Dunfermline Sheriff Court, on Wednesday, heard that the offence took place in the early hours of March 19 and Smart had been left in the house the previous evening with her sister.

Shortly after midnight her parents returned home but Smart was not in the house, so her mother went across the road to her friends to see if she was there.

A short time later Smart's brother was awoken and was asked to get the accused out of the house because she was shouting and swearing and was acting aggressively.

Smart called her mother a "f***ing cow" and when a witness tried to restrain her she kicked her mother.

The police were contacted about the matter but on their arrival the accused had seemed to calm down and there were no further issues.

Defence solicitor, Brian Allison, said the matter now went back over a year and Smart had previously received a deferred sentence in December for good behaviour.

"There have been no ongoing difficulties with her parents since and she does not have much recollection of that evening,” Mr Allison said.

Sheriff Pino Di Emidio allowed Smart's current community payback order to continue and deferred sentence for three months to see her progress.
