DO you believe in the importance of education?

Are you looking for a gift for someone who has everything? Do you sometimes feel a wee bit guilty about the consumerism of Christmas?

If you have answered yes to any of the above questions the staff and pupils at Beath High School might have a solution!

Said Beath rector Douglas Young said on behalf of the Beath-Malawi Partnership: "During Beath High School's visit to Malawi we asked our partner schools what could make a real difference to their young people.

"One of the issues they highlighted was a lack of suitable clothing for some of their learners to wear to school. This impacts on the young person's attendance and therefore their attainment, as well as their dignity and self worth.

"For only £5 you can help two learners (one boy and one girl) in Malawi by buying them a school uniform.

"In addition to helping these learners your donation will also support their local economy as the uniforms will be made in the tailor's shop within their village.

"£5 is an unattainable amount of money for many people in Malawi so you really would be making a massive difference to the daily life of two young people".

If people would like to help it is very simple.

He added: "Please contact us at Beathhs.Enquiries@fife.gov.uk and we will discuss with you the easiest way to pay and will also send you a photo gift card thanking you for your donation.

"The card is an ideal gift for friends or relatives. It is also a gift which will bring more joy to a young person than can possibly be explained in words, we hope this photograph taken in Njale Primary School will help you understand. Thank you for your support".
