COWDENBEATH Rotary Club will again pin the largest part of its fundraising on its highly successful ladies day which is held the first Sunday of every May.

On Thursday the club discussed its fundraising programme for the coming few months and a number of ideas came up.

Fundraising convener, Marie Shevas, said that there had been already a very healthy interest in people wanting to put their names down for the 2018 event.

She said: "It has proved a popular event over the past few years and I am hoping that next May's event will be equally as successful as last year's.

"However, we really want to keep finance coming in for backing good causes in the area.

"There are a few ideas ranging from a race night to a brunch type event which have been put forward and hopefully we can come up with a shortlist of a few we can go ahead with."

A gin tasting evening was another tabled at Thursday's meeting which it was felt would be a successful event.
