A HUGE series of tyres near dumped near Crossgates has concerned villagers.

In the early hours of the morning of Sunday October 15 over 50 used tyres were strewn on the roadside verge.

Every few yards, tyres seemed to have been tossed out from a vehicle, an action which would have required at least two persons, on the Crossgates to Aberdour road, between the small village of Fordell and the Whitehills Sawmill, a distance of around a mile.

One resident, Maureen Cuthbertson, said that it was not a nice thing to see and if anyone saw anything suspicious or has any information about it to report it to Fife Council or the Community Police team.

Maureen added that the tyres lay for about three days before being collected by the local authority on Tuesday afternoon which left not a pleasant scene for people using the road.

Maureen said that she reported the dumping incident to Fife Council Environmental department on Monday morning and she was so happy to see these removed on Tuesday.
