THE highly popular elderly forum, which is a popular feature of the Central Fife Crime Prevention and Community Safety Panel calendar, is set down for Friday November 10.

At their meeting last Wednesday the Panel decided to set their target at entertaining and informing 100 senior citizens from the Cowdenbeath-Lochgelly area that day.

The venue will be Lochgelly Town Hall with everything getting underway at noon and lasting to 3pm.

Panel chairman, Colin Bird, said: "This has always been one of our most popular initiatives.

"We will be circulating free tickets in Crossgates, Hill of Beath, Kelty, Cowdenbeath, Lochgelly, Cardenden and Benarty in the coming weeks and we hope that we will have another full house of around 100 people.

"The police and fire services will be offering advice on all sorts of crime prevention and safety measures that can be easily taken by senior citizens in their own homes and on their person."

He added that there will be a series of stalls in the hall from the likes of Fife Elderly Forum, Home Cares and the Cowdenbeath Area community police teams.

There will also be entertainment provided by Beath and Lochgelly High School pupils and primary children.
