TOMORROW the issues affecting villagers in Hill of Beath during the infilling of an adjoining field will be discussed at a public meeting being held at 2pm.

The venue is Hill of Beath Community Centre when the dust and mud problems people living in the Main Street area and on the B981 will be on the agenda.

Hill of Beath Community Council is holding the meeting which is expected to be attended by local councillors, Fife Council officials and members of the Scottish Environment Protection Agency, while farmer John Wilson will, it is understood, be represented by his son Jocky.

Chairman of the community council, Willie Bishop, said: "We hope that villagers will turn out in good numbers for this meeting.

"Over the past three years there have been a number of issues that have affected people living in Hill of Beath from the work going on at the field that runs between the village and the B981.

"It has ranged from dust to mud on the road and pavement of the B981 and hopefully we can find out how long the work is likely to continue."

Mr Wilson has always maintained that he has a mechanised road sweeper trying to ensure that the road surface is kept clear of mud deposits and a tyre cleaner for the lorries dumping material.
