A DEDICATION service was held in Bowhill Cemetery on Sunday to mark the completion of a new memorial wall and garden.
The graveyard is now full for new burials – and there’s no immediate likelihood of creating a new one – which prompted Cardenden Community Forum to try and establish an area of remembrance for local families.
Their action plan proposed a new area of contemplation where people could have plaques placed in memory of their loved ones.
The memorial wall and garden were created with the support of Fife Council’s Bereavement Service, while Dobbie’s Garden Centre in Dunfermline kindly supplied the flowers, the Corrie Centre management committee donated a bench and Stevenson Funeral Directors gave flower vases.
The service, which marked the culmination of months of work to bring about the new feature, was conducted by Reverend Tilly Wilson, the locum minister of Auchterderran Kinglassie Church.
The forum thanked everyone who helped with this project.
