GROWING cannabis so he didn’t have to use drug dealers landed Cardenden man David Thomson with a Court appearance.
Thomson, 33, of Kirkburn Drive, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday after earlier admitting that on February 2 this year, he produced a controlled class B drug, namely cannabis.
Defence solicitor, Alexander Flett, said both plants were recovered by police after they were found growing in the loft.
“His explanation to police was he was trying to essentially grow cannabis for his own use because he was trying to avoid involvement with people who deal in drugs,” he told the Court.
Sheriff Craig McSherry placed Thomson on a community payback order for 12 months requiring him to do 160 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
