COWDENBEATH MSP Annabelle Ewing has sent her congratulations to all connected with Lochgelly High School as the school community celebrates its 30th anniversary today and tomorrow.

Speaking on Wednesday Ms Ewing said: “Many congratulations to everyone associated with Lochgelly High School throughout its time serving the local area as the school community celebrates its 30th anniversary.

“I hope that the festivities go well and are fully enjoyed and I am really disappointed that I was not able to attend on Friday, as I had two Ministerial events that I have to attend, but I’ll be looking out for them in the parade at the Lochgelly gala day on Sunday”.

Ms Ewing concluded: “I am sure the celebrations will be a real success and hopefully all the events will mean a significant sum being raised for three great charities.”

The school’s celebrations took the form of a Gameathon which started at 9am on Friday morning with the S1s getting the ball rolling and lasted for more than 24 hours. The senior school were involved for a period of 16 hours. It ended on Saturday with a Massed Pipe Band event at the school and on Station Road.
