A MAN who threw kitchen items after an argument with his wife found himself in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Ireneusz Kurpik, 48, of Arthur Place, Cowdenbeath, appeared for sentencing on Wednesday after earlier admitting behaving in a threatening or abusive manner which was likely to cause a reasonable person to suffer fear or alarm when he threw various household items around the kitchen and damaged them on July 1 this year.

Depute fiscal, Dev Kapadia, said an argument had started between the couple which escalated while they were washing dishes.

"The accused started showing, threw the food recycling bin and coffee machine from the kitchen workshop onto the floor," he said.

"He then threw a ceramic pot lid on the floor and used his arms to swipe numerous items on to the floor from the worktop."

Solicitor, Ian Beatson, said his client very much regretted the incident and was taking steps to ensure similar incidents did not happen again.

Sheriff Craig McSherry deferred sentencing for three months for Kurpik to be of good behaviour.
