HILL of Beath Hawthorn and Dundonald Bluebell got their first wins of the new Super League season last night.

Haws built on their point at Lochee on Saturday when they met Super League newcomers Kennoway Star Hearts in a Fife derby at Keir's Park.

Kennoway came to Hill of Beath to contain and they did that fairly successfully  and at the break there was no scoring.

In the second period the Haws started to wear down the Hearts' resistance and a fine finish by Lee Bryce with 20 minutes left took the Hill of Beath tally to four points from two starts.

Bluebell faced a tricky trip to Perthshire to face Jeanfield Swifts and after the insipid performance at Newtongrange stepped things up.

However, some good defending by Swifts kept dangerous Dundonald raids down and at the interval there were no goals.

However, in the second period Bluebell started to increase their pressure and Ross Drummond's strike with just under 20 to go sealed the win built on solid defensive work.

The results have Haws in fifth spot and Bluebell 11th.
