WITH August upon us next week many families in the Cowdenbeath area will be preparing for a sibling moving from primary education to start at Beath High School.

To allow the transition move smoothly a special event was held prior to the school holidays to allow children experience the Beath atmosphere.

Beath's P.T. English Mrs Hutchison said: "To ease the transition from P7 to S1 school librarian Mil Davidovic delivered a flavour of Beath High School's Learning Resource Centre to pupils in our cluster primaries.
"A well-kent face, Mr Davidovic required no introductions, receiving a warm welcome wherever he went!

"Armed with teen literature covering both old favourites and new titles, Mr Davidovic began by setting the pupils the challenge of a book quiz, which they enthusiastically tackled.

"Following this, pupils listened to his presentation about the many facilities on offer in the LRC: the homework club; the very popular film club; use of IT; a wealth of reference texts, study guides and the hottest new fiction titles for all year groups.

"As well as all of this, Mr Davidovic highlighted the LRC's welcoming environment for all. Finally, pupils were then offered the opportunity to ask questions."

Mrs Hutchison concluded: "We look forward to welcoming our new first years to Beath in August".
