A MAN was caught driving through Cowdenbeath when he was almost FIVE TIMES over the limit.
Police had been alerted to the “erratic” driving of Zbigniew Partyka.
Partyka, 55, of Primmer Place, Cowdenbeath, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on May 26 in Seco Place, Cowdenbeath, he drove a car having consumed excess alcohol. His reading was 101 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 22 microgrammes.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said: “At around 10am, police received a call about a vehicle being driven erratically. Ten minutes later, they traced the vehicle and saw it hit a kerb.
“They followed it to Seco Place. When officers approached the vehicle and opened the door there was a strong smell of alcohol.”
Sheriff Derek Reekie called for reports and imposed an interim driving ban. Partyka, who appeared in the dock with a translator, will return to court for sentencing on July 12.
