HILL of Beath Community Council’s second AGM will be held on Tuesday June 20 in the Community Centre at 6.30pm.

Committee members invite villagers to go along to this meeting and are hoping to have several new members wishing to join.

The event will hear that to date there have been many positive additions/changes within the village all arranged through the Community Council.

The kids have enjoyed a Halloween and Christmas Party. Funding has been raised to help install a skate park and MUGA.

The new improved community garden is nearly finished and will be open soon after a few finishing touches are completed, not to mention the second year of lovely floral arrangements throughout the village, new benches and wild flowers. Acting secretary Laura Watson said: "Without the Community Council Hill of Beath residents would not benefit from any of these improvements.

"The community council are working with Fife Council and are in discussions regarding current road safety issues, the monthly meetings are also attended by the Community Police so residents have a point of contact if they wish to bring up any issues relating to the village.

"Hill of Beath Community Council plans to continue to work with the school, residents and other community groups, namely Hill of Beath Community Group, who are in the process of developing a bio-diversity area that will be used by the school and residents, this will hopefully help with the drainage issues currently at the field at the side of the Club.

"However, none of this will continue if new members do not come forward to support the community council. Some current members have had to resign due to other commitments and moving house to a different are so the Community Council needs volunteers to join or there will not be a Community Council going forward, which would be such a loss to the village".
