COWDENBEATH will come alive with science this weekend, as Fife Science Festival kicks off in spectacular style.

Building on the success of last year when over 1000 people attended the festival weekend in Cowdenbeath, Fife Science Festival 2017 comes alive with the wonders of science - covering everything from engineering and computing to liquid nitrogen and our very own insides! Visitors from throughout the Kingdom will gather to enjoy the family-friendly events at Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre on both Saturday and Sunday. Everything gets going at noon.

On Saturday, ‘A Day in the Life of ...’ opens the festival weekend, shedding light on the many, exciting career opportunities in Scotland, with the chance to meet and mingle with University of St Andrews scientists, as well as those working in engineering locally.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, ‘Science Adventure’ will see visitors explore the challenges in designing railway stations, witness live demos of medieval combat, learn about boat-building and investigate their own anatomy! Families can get to grips with electronic engineering, and discovered how psychologists study how children think and learn.
