FOUR Edinburgh Rugby pro players gave their assistance to club coaches last Thursday during a training session for Alloa R.F.C.'s junior section.

Fraser McKenzie, Ben Toolis, Kevin and Glenn Bryce all participated in the hour-long session at Alloa's Earlfield grounds. Both Kevin and Glenn started their rugby careers in the Alloa junior ranks.

Over the 2016/2017 season there has been another significant growth in the Alloa juniors with both the under 16 and under 14 sides regularly turning out squads of 25+ for what has become now regular fixtures.

Additionally there has been an encouraging uptake into the Lornshill and Alloa Academy schools of rugby for next season from the primary school kids who will move into secondary education at the end of the summer.

Jim Gove, the club's vice president, said: "These are exciting times for Alloa R.F.C. as we enter into a phase of expanding our facilities with the rise in junior numbers very much at the foremost of our thinking.

"The club are indebted to Edinburgh Rugby and the players who gave up their evening to pull together a hugely enjoyable coaching session."
