NOMINATIONS are being sought for Cowdenbeath Community Council's Citizen of the Year 2017
Do you know someone close to you who works hard, quietly and gives support or assistance in the Cowdenbeath, Hill of Beath, Crossgates or Lumphinnans communities - either individuals or groups - whose efforts might otherwise be taken for granted.
Alternatively, do you know of a group of people or local sports team who collectively have brought honour and distinction to any of these communities.
Said the community council's secretary, Christine Gourlay: "Please help us find these worthy citizens and express your appreciation by writing to Cowdenbeath Community Council and telling us who they are, and why you feel they would be worthy of the Citizen of the Year award.
"Please also check that the person (s) nominated would be willing accept the award should they be successful.
She added: "To allow the Community Councillors to select a Citizen of the Year - we need your nominations. As you would expect, if there are no nominations, then sadly the award will not be allocated".
Nominations should be sent by Friday, April 28 to the Chairperson of Cowdenbeath Community Council. Postal Address is 16 Arthur Place Cowdenbeath. EMail address is cowdenbeathcc@gmail.com
The Citizen of the Year plays a prominent part in the town's gala day and throughout Civic Week.
