SPIE UK, a leading provider of multi-technical services, has won two closed bid tenders with Clackmannanshire Council.

The first project requires secure door entry and door entry systems replacement and common area upgrades including security installation and refurbishment works within social housing. Carrying a £540,000 budget, the works will take place over four years. The second, worth £200,000, involves the replacement of fire and security alarm systems at 10 schools in the region.

SPIE has a long established working relationship with the council, developed through past contracts spanning over 20 years including maintenance of door entry system and security systems.

Previously, the company was tasked with a three-year programme of door entry system installations and renewals. During this time, the SPIE team was praised for its ability to adapt to the requests of the local community while bringing the works in on time and within budget; tenants requested SPIE commence their work later in the day so they were not disturbed early in the morning. Since then SPIE has continued to work with the council and is currently the contractor for multiple properties and security systems throughout the authority region.

Paul Stevenson, business development manager from SPIE UK, said: “With long-term works like this, it is vital to have a mindful relationship not just with the council team, but with the local community. We hope to take on our responsibilities with minimal disruption and look forward again to working alongside Clackmannanshire Council for the duration of the contract.”

Owen Munro, team leader of planned works and compliance at Clacks Council, added: “We have a programme to upgrade our Housing Stock and Common Areas throughout Clackmannanshire and feel well supported in this venture by SPIE.

"Having worked with the team in the past, we know their flexible and professional approach aligns perfectly with our own vision and requirements. We are confident they will deliver as high a standard of work on these projects as we have come to expect of them to the benefit for our customers.”
