LOCHS councillor Mary Lockhart has asked the Fife Council roads department to look at the speed of vehicles going down the B920 between Lochore and Ballingry.
Councillor Lockhart told Cowdenbeath Area Committee that there were two bus stops on this stretch of road near the entrance to Craigie Street which were heavily used.
The Ballingry councillor added: "The bus stops lie diagonally but this road is very busy and the speeds used by some vehicles is certainly more than 30mph.
"It is not easy for people to get across the B920 and I was wondering if a crossing could help make things safer for users of the bus stops."
It was pointed out that a Pelican crossing cost thousands of pounds and that this stretch would not justify that sort of expenditure but Ms Lockhart felt that something needed to be done to assist people using the bus stops.
