A GROUP of S2 Beath High School pupils took part in the Build a Business in a Day session at Edinburgh Napier University.

The purpose of the day was for the pupils to use their entrepreneurial skills to come up with a new business concept, either a food/drink or a festival.  The Beath pupils came up with an excellent idea to hold a Scottish Food Festival, where world famous chefs could cook with some of the finest fresh local produce and the public could taste and participate in the festivities.  The concept also had an integral social message, integrating refugees and asylum seekers in Scotland, by offering free entry and an opportunity to #tasteourculture.

The judges acknowledged the concept as being at a very high standard, with an important link of promoting Scotland to the world and social inclusion.  The students had a wonderful time and learned a lot about the various considerations new business ventures have when developing a concept.
