TWO of BRAG’s F24 Teams, Fife Lightnin’ and F24+ Team The Flyin’ Fifers, along with Cowdenbeath Community Police Teams’ F24 Team – Fife Rapid Response were in impressive form at Rockingham Motor Speedway for the Greenpower International Finals.

All three teams from the Crosshill Centre produced excellent results.

The two F24 teams raced in the Kit Car Finals on the Saturday whilst the F24+ team took part in the lap race on the Saturday, culminating in the International Finals on the Sunday.

There were over 130 cars taking part over the weekend and 75 cars taking part on the Sunday, with teams and cars from all over the UK and the world including, Team USA, Poland, Brazil, Portugal and Northern Ireland.

Said Kirsten Spence, BRAG's Youth & Community Development Manager: "The setting at Rockingham Motor Speedway was amazing and what a great opportunity for our teams to be based there for the weekend, they experienced a real garage and pit setting and raced on the 1.5 mile long banked oval racing track. It was real thrill for all of the teams involved!"

BRAG’s Fife Lightnin’ Team finished in 57th place during the International Finals weekend which was a fantastic result for them as well as the Police Team, Fife Rapid Response, who have achieved a huge amount in such a short space of time, came 63rd overall!

BRAG’s F24+ Team had a fantastic weekend and after a really difficult season for the team they came 17th out of 37 cars in the F24+/Corporate Challenge even beating Jaguar Land Rover Apprentices Team!!

Added Kirsten: "The teams were all so excited to be there and were also really pleased with the results from their weekend of racing.

"They are all looking forward to the 2017 racing season starting! We would like to say a huge well done to all of our teams including Fife Rapid Response, the hard work, commitment and dedication really did pay-off and we are very proud of everyone’s achievements!

"I would like to say a massive thank you again to all of our supporters and sponsors who make it possible for us to attend race events."

Ian Stephen, Community Inspector at Cowdenbeath commented: “This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for the kids and police officers involved and a fine example of partnership working that took us on an exciting journey from the design and build process to competing at a National Championship.

"Lasting links and memories were created and the Cowdenbeath Community Police remain committed to participating in and supporting projects that enhance engagement with our young people.

"Our thanks go to BRAG Enterprises for the opportunity to be part of this, and to the Central Fife Crime Prevention Panel for their welcome contribution that saw the kids fed and watered whilst away from home!”
