A NEW fitness class is offering people the chance to get physical in the water.
In a first for Fife, floatfit is being delivered by Fife Sports and Leisure Trust – the region’s leading sports and leisure service provider – and will be available at the likes of Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre and Bowhill Pool.
floatfit is a group fitness session performed on an aquabase – a mat which floats on the surface of the water - which sees participants carry out a variety of workouts from HIIT (high intensity interval training), strength, balance and conditioning.
Evelyn Crichton, fitness class co-ordinator for Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “floatfit is a new fitness concept which is suitable for all fitness levels and experience – it offers participants the opportunity to really improve their core strength through balance and conditioning. "We’ve already had really good feedback about the new class with customers very excited to try it out for themselves. We can guarantee a fun workout with the potential for the odd splash in the water!”
