COWDENBEATH man Jock Finlayson was honoured by Fife Council last week for his services to Hill of Beath Hawthorn Football Club.
Jock, Taylor Avenue, retired just over a year ago as the Haws manager after 40 years of dedicated service winning many awards with the Keir's Parkers including the Holy Grail of the junior football world the OVD Scottish Junior Cup.
Provost Jim Leishman praised Jock for his service to the Haws and his success rate which has seen the Hill of Beath team hold down a place in the East Super League since it was formed.
Jock received the Provost's Award at a ceremony in the Town House in Kirkcaldy.
