DRIFTCUP round 5 – The finale – will be the feature at Driftland, Lochgelly, next month.

As the official feeder series for the British Drift Championship, Driftcup is the place drivers learn to drift like the best in the world.

The 2016 championship has been won with one round remaining with Mark Webb, the word famous BMX rider taking to four wheels as well as two.

The race is on for the runner up spot and a place in the top eight of the series. The top eight drivers will be promoted to the British Drift Championship from the start of the 2017 season.

There are a number of local drivers all aiming for a podium position, with winner of the last round at Teesside Kriss Darling from Jedburgh. He drove his BMW compact to victory knocking out the 2016 champion on his way to victory.

Another driver looking for a good result is Barry Stevenson. The Edinburgh driver had the best result of his season at the last round at Teesside. His V8 powered Toyota Corolla is one of the most impressive sounding machines you will ever hear!

Mark Gemmell from Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, is another Scottish driver who is on a roll! A fourth place finish for the Nissan 350Z driver at Teesside, showing talent from north of the border is in abundance.

Three Scottish drivers in the top four of the last round at Teesside was an impressive sight, the final of these three drivers being Mark Illand. He took third in his Nissan S14 with some impressive driving. This is the the second time the Edinburgh based mechanic has visited the podium this year.

A spokesperson for Drifcup said: "With all this local talent you can be sure the actions will be amazing!

"The venue is perfect for viewing with a raised spectator area surrounding the track. Refreshments are available on site as well as trade stalls.

There is action all day from 9.30 with the main event starting at 3.30pm
