CHILDREN from the holiday club at Kelty Parish Church built a Wall of Hope to raise money for those affected by the Nepal earthquake.

The church managed to raise £1,150 which will go towards building two houses in Nepal, as part of the Let Us Build A House project.

The national project encourages churches across Scotland to raise money to fund new homes for all those who were affected by an earthquake that hit Nepal in 2015, which took the lives of 8000 people and over 6 million families to lose their homes.

More than 500 cardboard boxes were donated by members of the community to help build the wall, with the bowling club, Brownies, nursery and football team all contributing.

Rev Hugh Steele said: "People took the time to do their own designs and put stickers on the boxes and paint them as well. It's given us a lot of pleasure. The congregation last Sunday were completely wowed by it."
