AFTER last year's initial success, the Lumphinnans Fun Day is back for more on Saturday.

It's taking place in Ochilview Park, off Gagarin Way, from noon to 4pm and promises something for all the family to enjoy.

Linda Schiavone, from the Lumphinnans Social Group, said: "This year should be bigger and better, we've got more stalls and attractions. "We've got Laser Quest, rodeo bulls, fairground rides, the tea cups and merry-go-round, inflatables and we're planning to have kids races too.

"If you buy a wristband for £6 on the day you get unlimited rides on the fairground attractions."

She added: "We'll also have the Cowdenbeath Majorettes and the Love2Dance troupe performing, there'll be face painting and Kenny the Balloon Man as well."

The group started in March 2015 as they felt there was little for the kids to do.

Linda said: "Last year's event was the first one. It was one of my friends, Dawn, who put something on Facebook saying 'why don't we get together and do something for Lumphinnans?'.

"There isn't much here but everyone met up in the cafe and it went from there. It's been great and we've also had Hallowe'en and Christmas parties for the kids, which have been a great success."

She continued: "We've had money from the Four Winds Development Trust, we've done our own fundraising and we held a sponsored walk in May.

"We do the organising but all the money we raise is spent on the community and we love it.

"You just want to see the kids having fun.

"It benefits everyone and not just the people of Lumphinnans but the surrounding area too.

"We're just praying the rain stays away."
