THE No1 Sun event hosted by The Spirit of Lochgelly community group was a huge success and one of the organisers, Keren Yeoman, this week praised all who took part and purchased raffle tickets.

Said Karen: "Everyone had a ball while profit after the band and doorman was paid raised £633!"

Dionne Duffin was the St Patrick's Primary School representative, and Sandra Jones was Lochgelly South rep while Karen was the Lochgelly West.

The schools will receive a cheque for £211 each! ...

Added Karen: "Thanks also goes to Tricia Reekie and Dawn Entwistle for volunteering to go round with the raffle tickets and helping to verify the total, the owners of Torleys who are donating £100 towards our funds which is being carried forward to kick-start our next adult event in October where the profit will go towards the three Lochgelly OAP homes for their Christmas parties."

However, there are two kids events before then during the summer months and the Halloween event is all planned and booked. Tickets for that will go on sale in June.

Concluded Karen: "I'd urge people to look at The Spirit of Lochgelly Facebook page so they don't miss out once these go on sale, or watch the What About It section of the Times. Thanks again to everyone that's shown their support."
