THE SNP's Annabelle Ewing said this week: "Over the past few weeks, alongside a fantastic team of SNP activists, I have been knocking doors across this wonderful constituency to speak to as many voters as possible and to listen to what you have had to say.
"Those doorstep conversations told me that the SNP is trusted to stand stronger for Scotland and to deliver policies that are important to people, their families and local communities.
"Of particular importance is our NHS, a public asset beyond price.
That’s why there is such a positive reception to SNP plans for the next 5 years, including new treatment centres, and investment in the fight against cancer.
"Our focus on closing the education attainment gap so every child has the same life chances - wherever in Scotland they are brought up and go to school – is also very important to voters.
"And our plans to build 50,000 affordable homes, with 35,000 of them for social rent, reflect the need for everyone to access the housing that they need.
"On top of all that, the SNP will put job creation at the heart of our agenda for government and will bring forward a jobs plan within our first 100 days in office, including a serious package of support for Scottish businesses – helping employers to thrive and to take on staff.
"We want everyone in Scotland to have the opportunity to find work – but we also want to improve the quality of work, drive up pay where wages are low and ensure that our workforce have the right skills for the jobs of the future.
"By giving both votes to the SNP in this election, people in Cowdenbeath can help elect a local champion, a parliament, a government and a first minister absolutely committed to creating jobs and building a wealthier, fairer Scotland."
