THE switch-on of the Benarty Christmas Lights was a tremendous family occasion.
Thursday saw over 300 people gather at Lochore Institute for the big switch-on which was carried out by young citizens of the year The Benarty Skateboard Group.
The choirs of both Benarty and St Kenneth's Primary schools provided entertainment and music was provided into the evening.
Benarty Events Group was delighted with the way things went. Said Michael O'Hare: "It was real family day with many generations of families taking part.
"It was brilliant to see the new lights going on that have been purchased this year (see separate story) and it gives the whole Benarty area a real festive feel.
"The school choirs certainly played their part in making it an ideal start to the festive season."
