On 1 September 2015 a team of 8 S2 pupils from Beath High School, attended Napier University to take part in the ‘Build a Business in a Day’ competition. The team members were: Daniel Allan; Ryan Butchart; Ciara Dick; Sean Halkett; Logan Jones; Rachel Middleton; Ellie Mudd; and Caitlin Petrie.

The budding entrepreneurs were given the chance to create the foundations of their very own business idea which culminated in a presentation of their idea to a panel of judges. The brief challenged pupils to come up with a new product or service aimed at the teenage market but based on the concept of either ‘festivals’ or ‘food and drink’. By taking part in the event the pupils undoubtedly had the chance to apply and extend their existing business knowledge but were also given the chance to develop team working and communication skills and to be creative!

The competition saw 8 schools compete against each other, and although Beath High School did not win, the pupils representing the school came up with an amazing idea and received some great feedback from the judges. Well done!
