WITH only 24 hours to go until the polls open for the Glenrothes West and Kinglassie Fife Council By-election things hotted up this week when a former SNP member for Ward 14 has come out in support of the Labour candidate

Councillor Bill Brown, now an Independent, is backing the Scottish Labour's Alan Seath for the forthcoming by-election to be held on Thursday 1st October.

Councillor Brown said this week: “I have known Alan for many years. He is a family man with lots of experience in the Council and other areas of business and industry.

"I am sure that he would be a committed councillor who would strive to get the best for the people in Ward 14. "Alan is easy to talk to and a very good listener. I could work with him and other councillors for the good of the Ward and Fife in general. I am extremely happy to endorse Alan.”

In response Alan Seath said he was very grateful for the support: “I have the greatest respect for Bill and he has seen this election for what it is. It is about electing the right people, those who can respond to local issues.”

Alan continued: “I have stayed in the Ward for nearly 30 years. I know what I want to do to improve the area.

"With my skills, knowledge and abilities and working with others, like Councillor Brown, the Labour Administration can continue to respond to local issues and fight to make change happen regardless of budget constraints.”
