A PENSIONER is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a motorbike outside Lochgelly Cemetery on Monday morning.

Emergency services raced to the B981 Lochgelly to Cardenden road to rush the man and the biker to Queen Margaret Hospital.

Both were seriously injured.

The incident was the THIRD in just THREE days after a weekend of mayhem on Central Fife's Roads.

On Saturday afternoon a young mum died on the Kinglassie to Cardenden road after her Fiat was involved in a collision with a Ford Transit van.

On Sunday night a 21-year-old Kirkcaldy man also died after a collision on the Auchtertool to Kirkcaldy road.

Adam Vallot was driving his Honda Civic when it was involved in a collision with a Land Rover Freelander on the B925 around 9.10pm on Sunday evening.

A nearby resident who witnessed the aftermath of Monday's accident, which took place just after 8am on the B981, told Times Online, "It's a fast road and has a blind hill.

"I'm upset about not knowing who it is because I wave at a lot of people who go past my house on their way to the cemetery.

"I could see a bike that looked in a bad way."
