NATIONAL reading charity, Scottish Book Trust, is to host a special event with Judy Murray in Lochgelly, where she will discuss and sign copies of her new memoir, Knowing the Score, for Book Week Scotland.

The tennis inspiration will be appearing at the Lochgelly Centre on November 30.

From the sometimes-soggy community courts of Dunblane, to the white heat of Centre Court, at Wimbledon, Judy’s autobiography charts the challenges she has faced, coping with desperate finances as she strived to encourage her sons’ talent, to sexism and criticism of her high profile as the mother of two World Number One players.

Judy will share anecdotes and insights from each step of the journey at this exciting Book Week Scotland event.

She has pioneered initiatives to grow the profile of, and numbers in, women’s tennis, including: Miss-Hits, for girls age 5-8; Tennis on the Road, taking tennis into remote and deprived areas; and She Rallies, to encourage more women and girls into tennis across the UK.

As mother to tennis champions Jamie and Andy Murray, Scottish National Coach and former British Fed Cup Captain, Judy has become a powerful role model for believing in yourself, encouraging talent and driving ambition. An outspoken advocate for grassroots engagement, she has revolutionised British tennis and earlier this year was awarded an OBE for her services to tennis, women in sport and charity.
