EIGHT of Scotland’s top professional musicians, who cover the length and breadth of the spectrum, have come together to re-introduce the “Showband” to their homeland.

Touring various theatre venues with a show entitled “Midnight at The Oasis”, Spatz & Co have received rave reviews wherever they have appeared. It’s the Adam Smith Theatre’s turn to take the trip on Saturday June 3.

“We are as it says on the tin – a band for shows” says Spatz & Co’s bandleader and vocalist Roy Mac.

“We cover 60 years of music making, from the 30s to the 90s, a period when some fantastic melodies were central to the whole world of entertainment, from Broadway and West End musicals to radio and then TV, from live big band dances to orchestral concerts, from pop chart recordings to stadium tours.

“We bring together elements of big band sounds, rhythm and blues, swing, latin, pop, jazz and funk, all with a Spatz & Co twist. In ‘Midnight at The Oasis’ we constantly change musical direction and the audience never knows what to expect next – it’s all part of the fun! Music should be fun, joyful and uplifting – our shows are designed to be just that”.
