FANTASTIC Beasts comes to the screen at Lochgelly Centre on Saturday April 15.
New York 1926, eccentric wizard Newt Scamander, author and Ministry of Magic employee, is headed to the Magical Congress of the United States of America with a special briefcase that is home to a variety of dangerous beasts.
After the creatures escape Newt finds himself wanted by the US authorities. Set 80 years before The Philospher’s Stone, JK Rowling has impressively weaved in pertinent themes of segregation, racism, international politics all of which bubble in the narrative cauldron.
Hogwarts old boy Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) heads to Prohibition-era New York with a bottomless suitcase full of banned magical beasts. However, unaware of the rising tension between the secret world of US wizards and a fanatical faction of No-Majs (American for Muggles) bent on eradicating them, he finds himself in the middle of a war. It doesn't help that his caseful of creatures keeps escaping into the city. This historical chapter in Harry Potter's wizarding world compellingly explores a new dimension in an adventure that's pure magic.
Spellbinding storytelling and thrilling special effects made this one of the biggest films of 2016!
