A COWDENBEATH guitarist is playing his part in the success of 3piece the indie rock band called the Ellies.

Drummer Marc Hood, bassist Wullie Haldane and guitarist from Cowdenbeath Davie Pugh have just released their debut album.

Said david: "We've been gigging since 2014 and have regularly played venues around Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee.

"We released our debut album Same Old Silence on Friday having recorded it in two days at Fall On studios in Dundee.

"It was only meant to be a six song EP because we only had limited time in the studio but we ended up getting ten recorded so the EP became a ten song album!"

Added David: "We've been mates since we were kids growing up in Glenrothes.

"Theres' a park where we used to play football and hang around called the Ellies, so we stole the name from that! Wullie and Hoody still live in Glenrothes but I've been in Cowdenbeath for three years now."

The Ellies will be supporting 90s Britpop band Dodgy on their UK tour early next year before they take our own album on tour around Scotland.
