COWDENBEATH boss Danny Lennon has added three new players to the squad for the coming season.

He fixed them up on Thursday and the trio will add a mixture of experience and phyiscial presence to the squad.

The new recruits are striker John Gemmell, a six foot plus signing who was with Albion Rovers last term and who bagged 15 goals for the Cliftonhill men; Derek Fleming, a highly experienced campaigner who can play left-back or in midfield; and Sandy Hodge, a six foot three central defender, also from Alloa.

Said Mr Lennon, "I am very pleased to have been able to sign these players for they will add a great deal to the squad.

"Derek had offers from the Frst Division and Sandy from a side in Division Two so it was a real, boost that they chose Cowdenbeath.

"John is a lad who likes to get amongst the goals and he was a regular marksman last season."

But he is not content with his three captures, he has made approaches for several more players and hopes to report more signings very soon.

He added, "We want the new recruits to be working wth their team mates in the pre-season work so I hope that I will be able to report more newcomers in the coming days."

The manager is pleased with the start of training. He said, "The lads looked after themselves in the period after the end of the season and have been able to get tucked into the hard pre-season work.

"Our target is to get them to peak for the start of the league on Saturday 2nd August for we want to make the best possible start to the league campaign".

Meanwhile Cowdebeath will have new shirt sponsors this coming aseason. Lints Property will be on the front of the Blue Brazil strips next term.
