Golfers celebrate centenary in style
By Jim Stark
Ballingry Golf Club members celebrated their centenary day in some style on Saturday.
Nearly one hundred golfers took part in the invitational tournament which kicked of proceedings at around 8am, the last tee off time being around 12.30 in the afternoon. Throughout the day a junior putting competition was also taking place. With hardly time to catch their breath it was back to The Benarty Tavern for a night of fund raising, games and presentations with master of ceremonies, DJ Kenny.
The Golf Club Committee would like to thank all those who competed and attended the evening’s entertainment.
Special thanks went to the main sponsors who included Willie law, Solaglas, Leslie Bike shop, Jock Devine, Kevin Sharp, Kenny McGurk, Stewart Wheatley and all those who donated raffle prizes. Thanks also went to Alex King for hosting the evening events.
