SHE might be only ten years-old by Cowdenbeath girl Kirsti Taylor is proving to be quite a judo competitor.

Indeed, at Meadowbank Sports Centre at the Scottish Championships, she won the under 12 MiniMon title by beating the reigning champion in the final.

Kirsti, who lives in Natal Place, has been involved in judo for around four years and her success at Meadowbank capped a fine spell for her.

Earlier this spring she won the Highland region open title in her age group and has collected several other medals including gold at the Glasgow West side Open and the Lochgelly Open.

A member of the Destination Judo Club she trains at Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre on Wednesdays and in Edinburgh most weekends.
