German Shepherd breeders from Kelty beat off competition from across the UK to win a top prize with their dog Nadia.

Heather MacDonald and David Greer, who run Conbhairean Kennels near Blairadam Forest, enter The German Shepherd Club’s show every year.

Nadia was judged best in her class at the event in Rosyth on 19th and 20th July.

The 18-month-old missed out on the best female dog prize by a whisker, coming third.

Heather said: “They tend not to give awards to animals under 2-years-old so, for a young female like Nadia, it’s a massive achievement. This is the premier show on the calendar.”

Dogs are graded on construction, anatomy, movement and resemblance to breed.

Heather added: “Nadia really is an exceptional dog. She was one of the top puppies in Britain last year.”
